Grand National 2018 is expected to be an even bigger success than the previous editions with organisers making significant changes to the horse racing action and the spectator access.

Grand National is regarded as one of the greatest horse racing events in the world. It is so popular that Aintree racecourse plays host to a three-day festival surrounding this race. ‘When is the Grand National?’ is a question on the lips of many supporters, and the 2018 edition is set to take place in the first week of April. The Grand National remains as one of the richest races in the United Kingdom with a prize money of £1 million.

The Grand National 2018 starts on April 12 and concludes on April 14. During this three-day festival, organisers are planning to feature reduced seating capacity at the Tattersalls Enclosure. The same would also be implemented along the roof areas during the festival.

What is the Grand National? 
The most popular jumps race on the calendar as 40 runners and riders take on the daunting obstacles of Aintree’s 30 Grand National fences over the course of four and a half miles.

Aintree Racecourse is expecting more than 150,000 racegoers over the three days of racing this year.

What time does the race start?
The horses will take post at 5:15pm on Saturday 14th April – ie this weekend. A total of 21 races will take place during the Grand National meeting.

Where is it?
As always, Aintree Racecourse, which has hosted the race since 1839. The racecourse is situated approximately six miles outside of Liverpool.
