First held in 1867, the Belmont Stakes is an annual horse race held at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The race is an American Grade I Thoroughbred horse race and features 3-yearold Thoroughbreds. A Thoroughbred is a breed of horses that is popular because of its ability to race as a result of their combination of agility, speed, and spirit.

The date of the Belmont Stakes 2018 is on Saturday, June 9th.  Colts and geldings in the Belmont horse race carry a weight of 126-lbs (57-kiliograms) while the fillies carry 121-lbs (55 kilograms). The Belmont race track is 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) long. The longshot Tenfold will have a dedicated cheering section at Saturday’s Belmont Stakes: injured veterans supported by Homes For Our Troops.

The Belmont Stakes, sometimes referred to as The Test of the Champion, is the 3rd and final race of the Triple Crown. The two other legs are the Kentucky Derby (5-weeks prior) and the Preakness Stakes (3-weeks prior). The Belmont horse race is always held on a Saturday between June 5th-11th. See below for the post positions and odds in full, along with a prediction for the outcome of the race.

The 150th running of the Belmont Stakes will be held on Saturday, with Justify seeking to become the 13th Triple Crown winner. A field of 10 horses will compete at the 150th Belmont Stakes in Elmont, New York, on Saturday, but only one can make history. After winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in the last five weeks, Justify is on the verge of becoming just the 13th winner of the Triple Crown.
